The Tanners League Merit took place on Sunday 28th July 2024 at Hanwood Bowling Club on a very hot day. There were 33 entries.
In the quarter finals Carl Bowers (Hanwood) won 21 – 15 v Steve France (Hanwood), Adie Rowe (Castlefields) won 21 – 11 v Charlie Hotchkiss (Pontesbury), Phil Talbot (Hanwood) won 21 – 14 v Emmet McKinley (Oxon) and Rob Jones (Prince Hotel) won 21 – 14 v Jason Rowson (Hanwood).
The semi-finals saw Carl Bowers win 21 – 15 v Adie Rowe and Phil Talbot win 21 – 11 v Rob Jones.
After playing well all day Phil Talbot triumphed 21 – 15 against Carl Bowers to win the Merit.
The Competition Secretary thanked all for attending and for their support. Thanks were also extended to Mike Caddick, Tanners League President, and Neil Jones, HS Fencing, for sponsoring the competition and presenting the trophies. Hanwood Bowling Club were also thanked for an excellent and tricky bowling green.
