The Team Doubles Competition shall be open to all teams within the Shropshire League.
A club may enter more than one team.
Two clubs can combine and enter a team.
A member of a club who plays for another club in the Tanners League, may play for that club in this competition, provided the club they play for in the Tanners League has not entered a team in the competition.
Teams beaten in their first match will enter the Consolation Competition.
Normal League levies will apply for each round that each club plays in.
All matches will be played on neutral greens and green fees will apply.
Teams will consist of six pairs (twelve players).
The following handicaps will apply:
Division 1 players 1 Point
Division 2 players 2 points
Division 3 players 3 points
Division 4 players 4 points
If a player plays in both the Shrewsbury and Shropshire Leagues the handicap relates to their highest placed team, unless they have only played three games for that team
The result of each match shall be decided on total aggregate, having applied the above handicaps. In the event of a tie the match will go in favour of the team with the most individual winners. If the match is still level, a system of count-back will be used with the team having the highest individual winner to be deemed the winners.
In the event of a ‘Home’ club member playing on their green their opponent will receive two chalks.
A player can only play for one team in any season in this competition.
Any player who has played 10 games in the Shropshire Premier League by August 1st, will be ineligible.
The finalists must notify the Competition Secretary or other nominated official of the League at least seven days before the Finals date the names in playing order of their teams and reserves.
The result should be entered onto the MB system by the winning team within 24 hours of the match.
Any questions arising shall be dealt with by the League Management Committee whose decision will be final.
