The Tanners triples competition took place at Old Shrewsbury Bowling Club on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August 2023 with 10 teams entering. All monies raised are to go to the nominated charity Hope House.
In the main competition the semi-finals saw The Bowling Stones (Charlotte Butler, Rachel Harrison and Mel Wornell, Prince Hotel) winning 15 – 12 against Win or Booze (Harry Ryder, Andy Selley and Alex Evans, Battlefield). In the other semi-final Snipper’s Army (Rhys Marshall, Cerys Marshall and Kian Parsons, Castlefields/Prince Hotel) also won 15 – 12 against Kev’s crew (Kev Farr, Ian Foster and Roger Oldacre, Old Shrewsbury/Battlefield/Bicton). In the final Snipper’s Army played very well to win 22 – 9 against The Bowling Stones.
A consolation competition was run for first round losers and in the semi-finals The Exiles (Dave Nicholls, Pete Nicholls and Chris Partridge, Albert Road Exiles) had a commanding win against Exiles Part 1(John Greville, Les Lacourse and Ron Millar, Albert Road Exiles) 29 – 2. The other semi-final was a much closer game with Norfolk and Chance (Matt Parry, Dave Renwick and Kev Griffiths, Unison) winning 16 – 15 against Ham Sandwich (Adie Jennings, Tony Hotchkiss and Dan Wornell, Prince Hotel). In the final The Exiles beat Norfolk and Chance 16 – 8.
