The Tanners League Handicap was held on Sunday (29th) at Greenfields Bowling Club commencing at 11 am with 22 entrants playing on both greens.
Playing on the No 1 Green in the quarter finals Tim Jordan beat Hayden Lewis 21 – 17 and Carl Bowers beat Nigel Ferrington 21 – 6. On the No 2 green Dan Williams beat Ian Foster 21 – 15 and Chris Elsbury beat Sam Cartwright 21 – 9. In the semi finals, all played on Greenfields no 1, Carl Bowers beat Tim Jordan 21 – 14 and Dan Williams beat Chris Elsbury 21 – 6. In a well fought final Dan persevered to beat Carl 21 – 16.
There was a consolation for the preliminary and first round losers of the main competition. In the quarter finals, played also on alternating greens, Antony Gray beat Charlotte Butler 21 – 9 and Dave Turner beat Emily Cunningham 21 – 16. both on No 2 Green. Dan Wornell beat Dave Povey 21 – 8 and Alex Evans beat Tony Cunningham 21 – 15 on the No 1 Green. In the semi-finals, all played on the No 1 Green, Anthony Gray beat Dave Turner 21 – 14 and Dan Wornell also beat Alex Evans 21 – 14. A very close consolation final, with both playing across the corners on the No 1 Green, was eventually won 21 – 20 by Anthony.
