Monkmoor won the Champagne by a close margin of just six chalks against Oxon on Old Shrewsbury’s Number 2 green.
Oxon had a great start with four winners off the front led by Neil Wood 21-14 to lead by 13. However, Monkmoor rallied in the middle with two big cards of 21-6 from Perry Evans and Player of the Match, Christie Hughes, 21-9 to give them the a two chalk lead into the back. Keith Wall then won 21-16 to seal the win despite the best efforts of Christopher Dodds 21-20.
