The Tanners League held an Extra and Annual General Meeting on Thursday 27th February 2025 where there was a wide discussion on a number of matters including rule changes and league formats

Key decisions were:

Any changes to the League’s rules will now require a straight majority vote rather than as previously a two thirds majority

Where a matter only affects a particular division only clubs in that division will vote

A proposal by Battlefield and seconded by Castlefields that Shropshire Division One be changed from 12 a side to 10 a side was defeated,  with two in favour and nine against

A Management Committee proposal that Shrewsbury Division One (Tuesdays)  return to 10 a side was passed with 10 clubs in favour and 3 against. Chairman Andy Jones said it was the Management Committee’s recommendation that Division Two should return to 10 a side for the 2026 season and this will be considered at next year’s AGM

Two teams have returned on a Tuesday, Meole Brace C and Worthen & Brockton, whilst on a Friday, Ludlow Castle and Monkmoor return and there is a new B team from Chirk

The formats of the divisions will be decided at the next Executive Meeting

On a Tuesday in  the Shrewsbury divisions it is likely to be 12 in Divs. 1 & 2 , 11 in Div. 3 and 10 in Div. 4, with a start date of 8th April 2025

There is uncertainty as to the format of the Shropshire divisions with a decision having to be taken as to whether there are two divisions or three
