TERRY AND JUNE SAMBROOK DOUBLES
The Tanners League Doubles took place on Sunday 23rd June 2024 at the beautiful setting of Bishops Castle Bowling Club on a hot sunny day.
In the quarter finals the pairings of Wayne Pugh (Bishops Castle) and Lee Walmsley (Prince Hotel) beat Nicky and David Russon (Bishops Castle), Ian Corfield and Doug Morris (Bishops Castle) beat Bill Meek and Adam Pugh (Bishops Castle), Martin and Emmet McKinley (Oxon) beat Billy Walmsley (Prince Hotel) and Emily Hotchkiss (Crescent) and Rob Jones and Neil Jones (Prince Hotel) beat Charlotte Butler and Craig Breeze (Prince Hotel).
In the semi-finals Wayne and Lee beat Ian and Doug 21 – 13 and Rob and Neil beat Martin and Emmet in a very close fought game 21 – 20.
After playing very well all day Rob and Neil beat Wayne and Lee 21 – 7 in the final.
Rob and Neil were presented with the Terry and June Sambrook Doubles trophy. Thanks were extended by the Competition Secretary to all entrants and to Wayne Pugh and all the members of Bishops Castle Bowling Club for their excellent hospitality and an immaculate running green.
