At the meeting of the Tanners League Executive Committee held on Thursday 7th March 2024 the following matters were reported.
Sponsorship
The League is pleased to announce the continued sponsorship of Tanners Wines Merchants for the forthcoming season and that H S Fencing Supplies will once again be sponsoring the League Merit.
League Structure
The Shrewsbury Divisions on a Tuesday will start on 16th April and comprise four divisions of 12:11:10:10.
Sadly two teams have withdrawn, Meole Brace C and Worthen & Brockton, and the originally proposed new Meole Village are not now joining. Abbey A have moved to the Monkmoor and will now be known as Monkmoor A (last season’s Monkmoor A will become the B team). Bagley will continue to play on Castlefields No.2 but will be known as Castlefields GWR.
On a Friday there will be two Divisions of 14:15 and the season starts on 5th April. The 1st Division includes a Wednesday night fixture whilst there are five Wednesday fixtures in the 2nd Division. Two new teams join this structure with a second team from Greenfields and Telepost rejoining.

Registered Sixes and Premier League
Clubs are reminded that they must ensure they comply with the registration rules (8r and s) by the first match of the season. Failure to do so will result in a £25 fine.
Jacks
Clubs should ensure, prior to the start of the season, that match jacks are in date and are stamped 2024 or beyond.
Cup Entries
Entries to the Tanner, Champagne and Fullwood Cups should be made through the Results Website.
Individual Competitions

POWBC Floodlights
The Prince of Wales Bowling Club’s floodlighting system has been damaged due to the floods and it maybe that their early season matches might be affected and require a 6.30 p.m. start.
