The Annual Meeting was held at the Unison Club on Thursday 26th January where all officers were re-elected apart from Ian Kilburn who has resigned as Vice Chairman. Rich Jones agreed to take on the position of Competitions Secretary.

Four applications were received to join the Shropshire League on a Friday and Chirk, Greenfields B and The Rhyn were accepted. However, Langollen’s application was rejected.

There will also be a new team in the Shrewsbury League on a Tuesday with Unison entering a second team.

The 2023 season will see the League revert back to pre-pandemic status with fines being reinstated.

Following votes the size of teams will remain at 8 a side on a Tuesday. The 1st Division on a Friday will revert back to 12  a side with Divisions 2 and 3 remaining at 10 a side.

Any player registered with one club in the Shrewsbury League will be able to play for a different club on a Friday in the Shropshire League and vice versa.

A proposal that captains number the cards in playing order 1-12, 1-10 or 1-8 at the start of the match, as appropriate, was agreed and the results must also be entered in this order on the Results Website.

A proposal to bring the rules of the Shrewsbury League and its Cups in line with the Shropshire League in relation to Premier League players was rejected. The current rule will remain whereby any player who has played three games in the Premier League during that season will not be able to play in the Shrewsbury League or its Cups.
