The Tanners League Harold Kaye Junior Merit Singles competition took place on Thursday 21st September 2023 at Hanwood Bowling Club.
Eight players took part, the first game being 11 up, and the losing quarter-finalists were Isla Walmsley (Prince Hotel), Lewis Hanmer (Prince Hotel), Jack Cooke (Monkmoor) and Owen Hanmer (Prince Hotel).
The Semi-finals were played 15 up, Joseph Pullen (Prince Hotel) winning 15 – 10 against Emily Hotchkiss (Crescent) and Rhys Marshall (Castlefields) winning 15 – 4 against Billy Walmsley (Prince Hotel).
The final was played to 21 with Rhys winning 21 – 13 against Joseph Pullen to retain the trophy. It was also a fitting way to end his junior days.
Thanks were extended to Roger Houston and Hanwood Bowling Club for the use of their green and also to Mike Caddick, Tanners League President, for his help on the night and sponsorship of the competition.
