Crescent were the 2022 winners of the Team Doubles Competition, beating Abbey by 11 chalks at the Prince of Wales Hotel.
The two teams started level with both receiving a handicap of 10 and it was the Abbey that held the initiative after the first three games, Graham and Greg Jones 21-13 helping them to a 7 chalk lead. This was soon wiped out by Crescent captain Dave Oliver and Jon Mansell’s 21-10, but Abbey went back in front as Andy Cooke and Dave Turner won 21-15. It left Andy Pullen and Dan Williams to see the Crescent over the line with the biggest card of the night, 21-8.
