The Terry and June Sambrook Doubles winners for 2019 were Carl Wear and Tony Wall (Castlefields) who defeated Gary Neal and Sam Cartwright (Telepost) 21-20 after nine hours bowling at Old Shrewsbury.

The final was a superb game as Gary and Sam led 19-8 and for the first time all day Carl and Tony swapped round, with Tony playing immaculate corners to score nine chalks in four ends before Gary and Sam scored a crucial one to lead 20-17. Carl and Tony would not be denied and got home in the next three ends.

Semi finalists were Neil Jones (Abbey) and Perry Evans (Castlefields) and Jenna and Rhys Marshall (Prince Hotel), who were the previous year’s runners up.

This competition was once again able to be run thanks to the continued generous sponsorship of Terry and June Sambrook, which also enabled a Consolation competition to be run. This saw Danny Wornell and Sam O’nions (Prince Hotel) defeat the previous day’s County Double winners, Daryl Edwards and Steve Duckett (Castlefields) 21-11.
