The second round of games in Shropshire Division One saw Meole Brace go top with a win at Craven Arms by 12, Natalie Connor and Jenny Rogers both 21-8 in a 9-5 victory. There was a good competitive match at Battlefield where the Lions won 10-4 against the Crescent, Andy Jones best card with 21-7. The Elephant & Castle were comfortable 12-2 winners against Castlefields with Richard Leah first off 21-4. The George had seven winners at the Brick but cards of 21-6 and 21-9 from Nigel Ferrington and Dan Williams saw the home side in by 10 chalks. In the Rea Valley derby Pontesbury won 9-5, Dan Jones 21-5. Telepost’s trip to Ludlow Castle saw them return with five hard earned points but a double 7 from Nick Beard and Mal Griffiths gave the hosts a comfortable aggregate win. The match at Old Shrewsbury against the Prince Hotel was cancelled due to the riverside green being unplayable.

Prince Social’s 12-2 win against Unison sees them top and they had three single figure winners in the first five games, Neil Lewis 21-8. Second placed Ifton beat Albert Road 9-3, whilst Meole Village are third after an 8-6 win at Bayston Hill. There were only seven chalks in the match between Wem BC and Frankwell with the hosts winning 9-5. Burway were also 9-5 winners against POWBC and Whittington won 10-4 against Hadnall. Bishops Castle cruised home by 56 and 11-3 against Bicton.

Church Club are the early leaders in Division Three after their 9-5 win at Bagley, Pete Adams 21-2. Severnside St Julians preserved their 100% record but Pontesbury B pushed them all the way, seven chalks being the final margin. Greenfields Social beat the Brick B well 11-3, but there were bigger wins for Wem USC 13-1 over Monkmoor and a full house for Oxon against Bayston Hill B. There was a really close match at Bicton where the hosts lost by two chalks to Severnside with games shared.
